The Richest People In America, Jay-Z And Warren Buffet Covers Forbes Magazine

That’s right, you guys heard what my idol said on “Corporate Takeover” freestyle, “Got the Forbes on my living room floor and I’m so close to the cover fucker I want more.” Now he’s on the cover with Warren Buffet. How nice is that? Brooklyn’s rapper Jay-Z came a long way from Marcy Project’s to being on the cover of Forbes.

Jay and Warren chopped it up at the first Forbes 400 summit, which took place in Buffett’s native Omaha, Neb. The entrepreneurs chatted for over an hour about their perspectives on wealth, their definitions of success, and the responsibilities that come with having money, power, and respect.

Develop the habits of success. Look around you at the people you admire, and list what makes you admire them compared to someone else,” advised Buffett to Hov. “What am I going to say to this guy?” Said Jay when asked to offer some advice to the billionaire. Peep the video below.

Jay-Z Decoded Book Cover

On November 16th, Jay-Z will be releasing his autobiography Decoded. The artwork for the cover is an image from Andy Warhol’s 1984 “Rorschach” paintings.  The book is 336 pages long and is a combination of interviews with family and friends,  memoir, lyrics and tells how Jay made it out of Marcy Project’s to becoming one of the most, if not the most successful person in Hip-Hop. Journalist and Jay’s close friend Dream Hampton helped write the book. Random House plans to release Decoded as an eBook and iPhone/iPad application. Below is an excerpt from Jay on the project.

When I first started working on this book, I told my editor that I wanted it to do three important things. The first was to make the case that hip-hop lyrics—not just my lyrics, but those of every great MC—are poetry if you look at them closely enough. The second was I wanted the book to tell a little bit of the story of my generation, to show the context for the choices we made at a violent and chaotic crossroads in recent history.  And the third piece was that I wanted the book to show how hip-hop created a way to take a very specific and powerful experience and turn it into a story that everyone in the world could feel and relate to.”-Jay-Z

If you guys are familiar with Dream Hampton, she’s a well-respected journalist. She had a great relationship with the late great Notorious B.I.G.  (GOD bless the dead). If I’m not mistaking, she was with Biggie the night he was killed in L.A.

Props to Miss Info, she paved a way for journalists like myself. I respect what Miss Info does. Gooch is a very nice and polite person. I interviewed him on the red carpet at the VH1 Hip-Hop Honor: Dirty Down back in June.

Rapper Fabolous Styling On Them Lames In A $750 Gucci Jacket

Last Week Brooklyn’s rapper Fabolous was spotted backstage at the Jay-Z and Eminem “Home and Home” concert at Yankee Stadium.  Loso was wearing a  $750 black Gucci nylon jacket. The jacket, which is on sale now at Gucci and selected retail stores features a flap pockets, snap front closures, and the Gucci signature web detailed on the waistband and cuffs.

Loso’s latest  EP There Is No Competition 2: The Grieving Music, is in-stores and on iTunes now. I heard the EP in its entirety and its a dope EP. A lot of dope tracks, features and productions on there. So far, the EP has sold over 20,000 copies.

50 Cent And Kanye West To Tour Together

According to an interview that 50 Cent’s DJ  Whoo Kid did with Vibe magazine, 50 and Kanye West will be touring together Overseas. They are planning to tour Europe together.

Other artists are reaching out now, too. Kanye just put Banks in his top five. Is there a G-Unit/G.O.O.D. Music collabo in the works?

It’s cool to receive respect from Kanye due to the fact that he’s lyrical too. Lyrical dudes have respect for other lyrical dudes. Banks is always talking to Fab, he’s always talking to dudes that have lyrical skill, Jay Rock to—everybody that spits bars, they all talk to each other.”-DJ Whoo Kid

But are they actually going to work together?

I guess that opened up the doorway—[50 and Kanye] have been talking about working together since a couple months ago—we all roll out together in a Euro tour. It’s the media that be hyping up all the beef and stupidity. But the real story is behind the scenes on how these dudes be talking. Because I been heard about this shit.”-DJ Whoo Kid

5o Cent and Kanye West on the same tour is officially a problem. Two big egos, great music, plenty of swag; this is a tour that I will spend my last couple of dollars to go and see.
