Jim Jones Talks Kanye West, Jay-Z & Upcoming Dipset Mixtape

In a recent interview with Vibe magazine, Harlem rapper Jim Jones shared his thoughts on Kanye West and Jay-Z’s collaboration album Watch The Throne, admits that Jay-Z is one of the nicest to ever do it and gives an update on Dipset’s upcoming mixtape.

On Watch The Throne.

I ain’t gon’ front, on the last few tracks, Kanye had been getting the best of Jay, and that’s just from a fan’s point of view,” Jones told Vibe on Thursday (Jan. 6). The Harlem rapper has had a long-standing feud with Jay-Z, and recently patched up differences with Kanye West, contributing to the G.O.O.D. Music/Dipset posse cut, “Christmas In Harlem.”

Whatever it is, they both goin’ to be sharp—trust me,” Jones says before hearing “H.A.M.” “It definitely ain’t gon’ be a one-way street. It should be good for music, good for hip-hop, as long as they don’t start rapping about too much strange shit.”

Dope Music: Kanye West Ft. Jay-Z “H.A.M.” (Is Jay-Z Dissing Birdman)?

The official first single “H.A.M.” off of Kanye and Jay’s collabo album has been released. All I can say is Ye and Jay went “Ham.” This record goes hard. Jay is my idol and the greatest rapper of all times and Kanye saved Hip-Hop and is a beast on the mic. The track was produced by Lex Luger. The artwork was designed by the creative director of Givenchy, Riccardo Tisci.

On the track, was Jay-Z taking shots a Cash Money CEO Birdman? “I’m like really half a billi n***a, Really you got baby money, Keep it real with n****s, N****s aint got my lady money” – Jay-Z

Listen to the track below.

According to FSD.Com, sources close to Kanye and Def Jam have informed them that the album has a solid and official release date, which is March 1st, 2011.

Nicki Minaj Covers V Magazine, Talks Rihanna & Lady Gaga

Young Money femcee Nicki Minaj is gracing the cover of V Magazine’s Spring 2011 issue. In the cover story, Nicki talks about her next single “Moment 4 Life,” some of her favorite artists outside of Hip-Hop, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, what does all her success means to her and if she’s single or not. Read an excerpt from Nicki’s interview below.

You just shot the music video for your next single “Moment 4 Life,” featuring Drake. What are you working on next?
We’re shooting the video with Rihanna for “Fly” this weekend. We’re going to save the world in more ways than one with the video and that’s all I can say about that… I love Ri-Ri! I mean, when she’s not grabbing my ass she’s a sweet girl.

Who are some of your favorite artists outside of hip hop?
I like everyone. I don’t listen to music based on genre. Like, I’ll hear a song and then I’ll live for that song for like months and I’ll be like, “Who the hell is that?” I listen to Taylor Swift. I like Coldplay. I listen to gospel a lot. I listen to anything that’s just beautiful music.
