Lil Kim Speaks On Mixtape Sales And Responds To Nicki Minaj Poking Fun At Her

Earlier in the week, I reported that Lil Kim latest mixtape “Black Friday” has sold 113,000 copies in just 28 hours; but some websites, bloggers, and radio DJ’s  have questioned the authenticity of those numbers. In an sit-down interview with Rap-Up, Kim responded to people who question the authenticity of her sales figures as well as Nicki Minaj poking fun at her mixtae sales. Read Kim’s interview below:

You tweeted that you sold 113,000 copies of Black Fridaywithin 28 hours. Is that accurate?
Right now it could be more.

What do you say to those who question the authenticity of those figures?
At the end of the day, you’re always going to have your haters. We need the haters. There was actually a representative at PayPal who basically didn’t really confirm or deny it, but also [said] that they’re very happy and proud of the success of Lil’ Kim. I think numbers in other areas speak for themselves. I mean, why aren’t they questioning theBlack Friday being at 2.5 [million views] in less than 18 hours? Why aren’t they questioning that? What’s the difference? How can you add up one thing and not the other? I just feel like people pick and choose the area that they want to attack [laughs].

Do you know the current sales numbers?
No, I actually don’t know right now. I have a team that kinda checks up on all that. We’ll keep you posted.

Nicki Minaj laughed off your sales claims. Did you see that?
I heard about it. I didn’t see it actually for myself, but to be honest with you, homegirl is basically obsolete to me right now. She’s doing a lot of lame stuff. She’s so lame to me right now—she’s always been, but now really. At the end of the day, her sales can be questioned also. Not to say she didn’t have the build-up, but the only thing you kept hearing before her album dropped was nobody liked it, it was wack. Don’t get me wrong, she might have a couple songs that are OK, but who cares. The haters will be haters, that’s their job, and we need them.

Was Cash Money/Hot Boys Recording Artist Turk Released From Prison?

Cash Money recording artist Turk, who was a member of the Hot Boys has been released from jail according to a post on AllHipHop.Com. Since 2005, Turk has been serving time in a Tennessee prison for attempted murder in the second degree. Turk allegedly shot a SWAT officer during a 2004 police raid on an apartment complex in Memphis, Tennessee. Over the years Turk always proclaimed his innocence. As of now, this is just a rumor and has no actual facts besides what was post on AHH and what the streets are talking. Below is a news story that I wrote on Turk for XXLMag.Com:

Name: Tab “Turk” Virgil, Jr.
Age: 29
Crime: Attempted murder in the second degree. Turk allegedly shot a SWAT officer during a 2004 police raid on an apartment complex in Memphis, Tennessee. As a result, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison and hit with a $200,000 fine.
Began Sentence: October 2005
Expected Release: 2015

THIS IS WHY HE’S HOT…

Cred: Best known for being a member of Cash Money Records’ Hot Boys (with Lil Wayne, Juvenile and B.G.), Turk rode a wave of underground success into the mainstream, as the New Orleans quartet exploded onto the scene in 1997. After three successful releases with the group, Turk dropped his 2001 solo debut Young & Thuggin’, which easily went gold.

Pre-Jail Buzz: Although his individual success never equaled that of his fellow Hot Boys, Turk continued to work on his music career. In fact, following his first disc, he dropped four albums in four years—including 2003’s Raw & Uncut, 2004’s Penitentiary Chances, 2005’s Still a Hot Boyand 2006’s Convicted Felons.

Release Therapy: Over the course of the past few years there have been various reports of a Hot Boys reunion, but that can’t truly happen without Turk. Upon his release, the New Orleans rapper could find himself realigned with his Cash Money brothers and give diehard Cash Money fans what they’ve been craving. Not to mention the built-in fan base Lil Wayne has amassed over the years as a Grammy-winning mega star. The block would be hot and so would Turk. Well, as soon as Wayne comes home.

Exclusive Pictures From Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now” Video Shoot With Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes

R&B/Pop singer Chris Brown began the production for his video “Look At Me Now” Ft. Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes. Productions started this past Wednesday (March 22). The video is being directed by Colin Tilley and co-stars Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes. Kevin McCall and Diplo both made cameos in the video. I think the final  version of the video will be dope. The concept for the video is very cool. In the first picture above, Breezy, Weezy and Busta are standing on top of an ambulance in front of an industrial building. Check  out the pictures below.

The artwork for Chris Brown’s upcoming album F.A.M.E. has been released. The artwork for the album features some portraits of Breezy striking in different poses, and was designed by Ron English. Breezy will be releasing F.A.M.E. Forgiving All My Enemies on March 22.

Waka Flocka’s Mother/Manager Speaks On Her Son Tour Bus Getting Shot Up [With Video]

Yesterday, I reported that Waka’s security team was involved in a shooting and his tour bus was shot up. Waka Flocka’s mother/manager Debra Antney (CEO of Mizay Entertainment) gave her views on the story.  In Debra Antney press released, she said “random cars begin shooting, no one could figured out what they were shooting at, the bus had gotten hit four times and security followed appropriate protocol and returned fire.”

According to Debra Antney, “Waka did not do anything and he was not there.” After watching the video below, it is safe to say that Waka’s camp and Mizay Entertainment had nothing to do with the shooting.

Before ending her press released, Debra Antney, stated that her, her artists and camp has nothing to do with gang violences and she blasted the media for reporting false information. Watch the video below.
