Dope Or Nope? Cam’ron Ft. Vado “Hey Muma”

Cam’ron and his protegé Vado just released another track off of their upcoming album Gunz N Butta. The track is called “Hey Muma” and was produced by Skitzo. The Harlem natives will be releasing their highly anticipated album Gunz N Butta on April 2. I like the track, I think it’s something for the club. I can see this song getting a lot of play at the basketball tournaments in Harlem this summer.

Don Bleek Supports Beyonce Blackface Images, Plus Shares His Perspective

A lot of people are very upset over the images of Beyoncé painted in a blackface for a French Magazine, which circulated online and caused a lot of controversy from sites such as The Huffington Post and MSNBC. According to the publication, the fashion shoot was to honor Nigerian musician and human rights activist Fela Kuti. Just like some critics are not buying it, I’m not buying the critics harsh and hateful comments. Read what I had to say below:

Again, every time a Black celebrity does something that mainstream America does not approve, it’s the worse thing in the f**king world. The images of Beyoncé in a Black face in a French Magazine was to honor Nigerian Musician and Human Rights Activist Fela Kuti. Why is there so much controversy surrounding this story?

Let’s not forgot about the controversial billboard that focuses on African-American abortions. Let’s not forget about the number of U.S. hate groups on the rise, report says. Why is mainstream America trying to conceal those stories?

I don’t see anything wrong with the images. Also, I think designers and the fashion world can take Beyoncé blackface images as a message to put more dark-skinned/African-American models on the cover and inside of magazines. For years, the fashion world has been playing the race card. Beside Naomi Campbell, I can’t think of a successful dark-skinned super model.-Don Bleek

Breaking News: Remy Ma Appeal Denied, She Must Serve Her Entire Eight Years

Earlier today, Thursday (February 24) former Terror Squad femcee Remy Ma appeal was denied. The court denied her argument that a judge didn’t properly inform jurors before they announced her guilty verdict. Remy is currently serving eight years in prison for a 2007  shooting. Below is how MyFoxNY.Com is reporting the story:

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York’s top court has upheld the conviction of rapper Remy Ma in the shooting of a friend in 2007.

In a ruling Thursday, the Court of Appeals rejected arguments that a judge didn’t properly inform jurors before they rendered a guilty verdict.

The rapper’s real name is Remy Smith. She’s serving eight years in prison for criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of assault stemming from the struggle in which a friend was shot.

Smith had accused the friend of stealing $3,000 from her pocketbook.

Smith was nominated for a Grammy as part of Terror Squad for the 2004 smash “Lean Back.” She has also performed with Busta Rhymes and Eminem.

Foxy Brown Releasing A Double Album This Summer, Plus She Speaks On Lil Kim Vs. Nicki Minaj

Brooklyn’s Don Diva is putting her focus back into music. Foxy Brown will be releasing her long-awaited comeback LP Black Roses this summer. In an interview with Billboard.Com. Foxy spoke on her new album, her “Massacre” diss track going at Lil Kim and she addressed the media putting out false stories about her. Also, Foxy spoke briefly on the Lil Kim Vs. Nicki Minaj beef. Read Foxy’s interview with Billboard below:

And you’re prepping new music yourself, right?

The new album! “Black Roses.” I’m in the studio every night, slaving. It’s going to be the first double CD from any female rapper in history, so it’s going to be really big. One side is going to be straight hip-hop and hardcore records, and a couple big radio joints, and then the other side is dancehall rock… I personally want it to drop around August or September.

You also released the track “Massacre” last month, which addressed the Lil Kim-Nicki Minaj feud. What do you think about that situation?

Nicki has always been cool with me. She and I have something online I did for her — it was a video shoot with Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, [when] she wasn’t signed yet. And she was like, “Foxy is the first female artist who ever embraced me.” She was classy; she was articulate. I’m so proud of her .

Of course, people everywhere clearly are saying, “She wants to be Foxy, she wants to be Kim.” Everybody’s going to say that. But do I think she’s doing an incredible job at branding herself? Yes, I do. When you’re an icon in the music business…like Mary J. BligeKeyshia Cole came out after her, [but] you didn’t hear Mary J. Blige starting a beef with her just because they compared [Keyshia to] her. Mary J. Blige stayed clean. She does what she does, and I do what I do.

Meanwhile, Lil Kim stays outspoken.

Had she let the people say, “Oh [Nicki], you’re trying to be Kim, you’re a fake Kim,” then it doesn’t come directly from her. But when you’re using that as a platform to bring your new album out, that’s like, “Oh my God, wait a minute.” I don’t condone it at all; I don’t think it’s cute.

Nicki clearly drew from both Kim and me. And she hasn’t been disrespectful to me in any way — I haven’t heard her be disrespectful toward anybody else but Kim. And at some point, it’s like, O.K., Kim, you’ve had a problem with Foxy, you’ve had a problem with Nicki, you’ve had a problem with Faith [Evans], with Charli [Baltimore], with everybody. It’s like, enough already. I choose to stay out of it. Put out great music, and that’s that.

Kanye West Disrespectful Tweets About Abortions & Females “Gold Digging B*tches Get Pregnant On Purpose”

Ugh! The outspoken Kanye West is back in the news again; this time for his disrespectful tweets towards females and abortions. Kanye took to his Twitter account @KanyeWest and tweeted “an abortion can cost a ballin’  nigga up to 50gs maybe a 100.” Before I give my perspective on Kanye’s comments, peep his tweets below:

Kanye also tweeted, “It ain’t happen to me but I know people.”

Let me start off by saying that I am a big fan of Kanye’s, if not the biggest and I support a lot of Kanye’s outspoken comments but in no way, shape or form can I support the above comments. It’s okay to be honest or “keep it real” but sometimes when you’re in the limelight you have to keep some comments to yourself, and this is one of the comments that Kanye should have kept to himself. The above comments represents the lowest class of the Black community. I am very disappointed at Kanye for making those above comments.

Sneaker Me Dope: Kanye West Vs. Wiz Khalifa

In today’s edition of Sneaker Me Dope, I have a couple of celebrities who are showing that their sneaker game is dope . So far this week, Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa were both spotted wearing dope sneakers with a cool outfit. Kanye was wearing a pair of Air Jordan 6’s; which we have  been seeing him wearing lately. Who am I to complain, they’re hot and comfortable. Wiz Khalifa was spotted wearing a pair of the most highly anticipated sneakers of 2010; the Cool Grey 11’s.

This has to be one of my favorite outfit I’ve seen Kanye in. Since this past summer, Kanye has been wearing suits, so seeing him dress down on his day off; with a mean outfit is cool. Kanye was wearing a grey beanie (available at Urban Outfitters), plaid shirt (available at Forever 21), light jeans (available at Levi’s), and a pair of  Air Jordan 6 (Flight Club).

2010’s breakthrough artist Wiz Khalifa was recently spotted at one of his shows wearing a pair of Cool Grey Air Jordan 11, with a  Ilthy crewneck (available at Ilthy Clothing), a Mitchell & Ness snapback (available at Mitchell & Ness), Levi’s  jeans (available at Levi’s), and a fox tail (available at Doll Skill).
