Celebs Fashion: Rappers & Singers Wearing Balmain [Who Rocked It The Best?]

Balmain was founded by French fashion designer Pierre Balmain. In around 2008 and 2009, the clothing line became extremely popular both among fashion magazines, runways and celebrities (source). The fashion line has since crossed over to Hip-Hop and R&B. Below is a list of artists wearing Balmain. Peep the pictures and vote who rocked it the best below:

Earlier this summer, Kanye West performed at Summerfest 2011. During Yeezy’s set, he was styling on them lames in a $3,145 black silk stand collar shirt, which is almost identical to the women’s Balmain shirt from the Fall/Winter 2011 Collection.

Jay-Z  performed at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC for the 2011 Adult Swim Upfront concert, this past Spring. During Jay’s set, he was styling on them lames in a $5,107 Balmain leather punk jacket.

Ink Not Beef: @RunDownRay Body Marked Up Like The Subway In Harlem

Body marked up like the subway in Harlem“-Lil Wayne “Solider.” Rundown Ray has a total of 29 tattoos. He was just 17-year-old when he got his first tat. Rundown Ray is a fan of art and loves the looks of tattoos, which is the reason why this Bronx native decided to cover most of his chest and stomach. Each of Ray’s tats has a meaning. For example, on his right side, he has the prayer from the movie Baby Boy. He also has the word “Life” with a movie scroll marked on the lower left side of his stomach; which means his life is like a movie. He plans on marking more parts of his body such as his neck and legs. Ray is a fan of Wiz Khalifa tatts because he think they’re cool and different. Peep some of Ray’s tatts below:

Rundown Ray is an aspiring fashion designer and up & coming rapper. In about two more weeks, Ray will begin his sophomore year at Penn State University. My full interview with @RunDownRay will be posted soon.

Magazine Cover: Queen Latifah Covers Sister 2 Sister September Issue & Says, “I just like ladies who have class.”

Rapper turned media mogul Queen Latifah is gracing the cover of the September issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine. The New Jerz native got very personal as she did an in-depth interview with Sister 2 Sister‘s Jamie Foster Brown. In the cover story, Latifah talked about what makes a woman sexy, her success & career, her touring days and her brother’s death. Below are some excerpts:

On women don’t need to expose their “T and A” to attract a romantic partner because “confidence” is what’s really sexy.

Queen Latifah: I just like ladies who have class. Period. And if it’s “T and A” you’re sellin’, that’s fine, as long as that’s what you’re selling. But you don’t have to show everything, you know? You can hold some back and just be yourself and let your personality shine and let your individuality show. To me, that’s sexier. A confident woman is a sexy woman, in my opinion. And I think guys find that to be the same way.

Jamie: Right.

Queen Latifah: You don’t have to show everything; you don’t have to put it all out there to attract a guy. Because what kind of guy are you gonna attract? What is he really looking for? If you wanna be a booty call, I guess you can throw it all out there. (laughs) But if you’re looking for a relationship with someone who respects you and respects things other than your body—your mind, your spirit, your personality, your smile—then you have to kind of exude that more so than just yo’ booty and yo’ titties.

Mixtape Artwork: Meek Mill ‘Dream Chasers’ Cover

On August 11, Maybach Music Group recording artist Meek Mill will be releasing his highly anticipated mixtape Dream Chasers. The disc is hosted by DJ Drama aka Gangsta Grillz. The disc will also feature collaborations from his MMG label mates like Wale, Pill and Rick Ross.

Mill is one of my favorite new artists of our generation. He’s doing a great job at branding himself. Ross presented Mill with an opportunity and he’s taking advantage of it. I wish Mill the best of success in all his future endeavors.
