TAKE IT OFF: Angela Simmons Poses Nude

Socialite Angela Simmons is the latest celebrity to join the crowd and pose nude for Peta. In an effort to promote her vegetarian lifestyle, she posed for a new Peta Campaign, stating “Eating Meat Is A Sin.”

As a devout Christian, I feel it’s very important to show compassion for all of God’s creation—and adopting a vegetarian diet is the best way to keep innocent animals from suffering,” says Angela Simmons.

Angela’s uncle Russell Simmons influence her to become a vegetarian.

“I eat pretty well, I’m a vegetarian. Hopefully I’ll be a vegan in a couple of years, but I’m taking it one step at a time. My uncle inspired me to become a vegetarian, a vegan, when I was young. He had me watch this video, I can’t remember the name of it, but I was only about 12 or 13 and he gave it to our family. No one else watched it except me. At that age, I tried to be a vegetarian and I couldn’t do it because I was in a family that ate so much meat. But I finally made the change and it’s been like a year and a half now and I’m pretty proud of myself. I’m feeling good and I do work out a lot.”

New Arena: Jay-Z Takes The NJ Nets To Brooklyn

Music mogul Jay-Z, who is also part owner of the New Jersey Nets, announced yesterday Monday (September 26) that in February the NBA team will be rebranding and unveiling their new logos and new city as the Brooklyn Nets. In a brief statement, Jay-Z talked about the teams transition today in Brooklyn on Atlantic Avenue, across the street of what’s to become the team’s home court called the Barclay’s Center, which is set to open on September 28, 2012.

We’ve decided that the final name would be the Brooklyn Nets,” said Jay-Z, who grew up a few blocks away in the Marcy Houses.

“It’s already created so many jobs… there are lots of vendors,” added Jay Z speaking from the plaza at Atlantic Terminal overlooking the Center.

“I like that. You know what it is, it’s deep love. Biggie had a line ‘spread love, that’s the Brooklyn way.’ It’s a deep love we have for our heroes. We walk around with that,” said Jay.

The Net’s top marketing executive Brett Yormark spoke on the change, saying:

“We think we’ve developed a lot of equity behind brand Nets.[…]Brooklyn was easy. Brooklyn is iconic. It transcends the marketplace. In many respects, it’s a global name and reference.”

Jay will also reportedly kick-off the opening of the new arena next year with a string of concerts and special events starring himself and his wife Beyoncé.

Saturday Night Live: Drake Set For First Performance

According to MTV, YMCMB rapper Drake is set for his first ever Saturday Night Live performance on October 15, in an episode hosted by Anna Faris. On October 24, Drake will be releasing his sophomore album, entitled Take Care, in which he admitted his anticipation about finally dropping the project.

Feels like it’s been so long,” says Drake, before asking a series of questions about awaiting special moments. “Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again? Either way, your life and mine are scheduled to meet on October 24 … I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Drake told MTV News early this month that the LP’s lead single, “Headlines,” was the perfect tune to launch the project. “I think it’s great; the purpose of that record was solely to deliver a message,” he said. “I could’ve gone with the record that was sort of super radio-friendly, but I really just wanted to talk to the people with the first record.
