Album Artwork: Tyga’s ‘Careless World: Rise ToThe Last King’

On December 20, YMCMB rapper Tyga will be releasing his new album entitled, Careless World: Rise To The Last King. On the cover, the Compton native is sitting on a gold-plated throne. His outfit resembles a look just for a king like himself. I respect what Tyga is doing for the new generation of Hip-Hop. Just like myself, he represents the youth. Tyga is also doing a great job at branding himself. In the past year, he have been featured on four tours and released a few mixtapes.

Young Boss Moves: 5 Success Tips from Love & Hip Hop’s Yandy Smith

If you are not familiar with Yandy smith, she’s a female hustla from Harlem, NY and she is about her money. Yandy is featured on season 2 of VH1‘s Love & Hip Hop. Black Enterprise recently caught up with the entertainment manager for a brief interview. Smith’s worked her way up from being an assistant to industry power player and Violator Management co-founder Mona Scott-Young, to working with top talent including music artists 50 Cent, Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes, Jim Jones, and television personality Tocarra.Below Smith shares five tips for success that can be applied to any industry—for those just starting out on their career path or those looking to take it to the next level.

Dress for the role you want, not the role you have.

“Even when I was an intern, I dressed the part of a professional who already has a top position,” Smith says. “I was coming in with my blazer and my button-down and nice slacks or jeans because if I want to be respected, I wanted people to know that I’m not just a kid.” You don’t have to be stuffy in a suit, but dress professionally for the field you’re in.

Sharpen your listening and observation skills.

“Be like a fly on a wall. Mona [Scott-Young] used to always tell me to be a great listener and take notes. I still have those notes and used them to start my own business.”
