Sneaker Me Dope: @ReebokClassics Blast By Meek Mill

Popular brand Reebok is bringing back their popular Blast model line of sneakers. They’re the 2012 version to former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Nick Van Exel’s footwear of choice during the 1995-1996 season. These model of the Blast retains the flared heel design that gives the shoe its name, but now sits atop Hexalite cushioning and tooling similar to that of the Kamikaze III. The new Reebok Blast will be available in Black/White/Excellent Red/Salty Grey this December. These sneakers are dope. I need a few pairs.

The King Is Giving Credit: T.I. Salutes Eminem & Gives Dap To Shady Records

Since being released from prison this past September, Atlanta’s rapper T.I. (The King of the South) have been busy recording tracks for his upcoming album Trouble Man, which will be released February 2012. T.I.’s first post prison released single “I’m Flexin’” proved that he is indeed back. So far, T.I. already recorded 45 tracks for his eighth studio album. Some of those tracks include the recently surfaced club banger “Pyro,” and the title track, which features a sample of Marvin Gaye‘s 1972 Motown hit “Trouble Man.” Below are some excerpts from Part 2 of T.I.’s interview with Billboard.com The Juice:

On Eminem being an enormous supporter.

I haven’t had a chance to speak to Em since I’ve been home,” T.I. said. “I heard that while I was down, he was trying to get in contact with me, but I don’t know if the dots just didn’t connect. [Eminem] overcoming his own adversities, winning the battle against his own demons and continuing to break the mold and re-set the standard of what it means to be the most successful hip-hop artist in the game … I salute that to no end.”

Giving dap to Em’s Shady Records.

I love what he’s doing with Slaughterhouse. I love the move that he made to sign Yelawolf. And the record with him and Royce da 5’9″… that record is going h.a.m. He killed that BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher. I’ve been peeping the move[ment].”

Do You Really Know How He Feels? Drake Speaks On His Legacy, Staying Consistent, Females, Rihanna & Nicki Minaj

A few weeks ago, while on his promo tour, rapper Drake did an interview with Google Music. During his sit down, Drake talked about his legacy, staying consistent and females. Drizzy also revealed that he believes international pop star Rihanna is the most iconic female out right now, next to platinum-selling femcee Nicki Minaj. Below are a few excerpts:

On being consistent and making quality music

I’m not the guy that would ever be able to make surface music with no substance. I think all my projects, hopefully, I’m working through some form of emotion because I think that’s what music is about. It’s about connecting and people being able to relate.

In five years, I like people to view “Take Care” at that point as another point of consistency. Another over delivery on something people thought I was going to drop the ball on. I think every time I say I’m about to do something people are waiting for me to fumble. That’s probably one of the biggest motivations behind a lot my raps is the amount of people that want me to fall or whatever. I think that should be the motivation for most rappers. The further you climb towards the top, the more hands you have on your pants leg dragging you to the bottom. I wear really strong pants.

On collaborating with Rihanna with the title track “Take Care”
I think my goal was something that moves. I really wanted to bring her into our world but still allow her to be herself. I think she really shines bright. She comes from a place that’s so rich in culture, so rich in music, but being what I feel like, the most iconic female period right now—next to Nicki Minaj, of course… [Nicki is] just doing incredible, she’s my favorite person.
