Bigger Than Life: Birdman Speaks On Upcoming YMCMB Albums

Music mogul Bryan “Birdman” Williams is a true hustla and professional businessman. In the late 90′s, he secured a $30 million distribution deal with Universal for his Cash Money label. In my opinion, Birdman is one of the greatest visionaries in music history. He and his YMCMB label outlasted Jay-Z and Roc-A-Fella, Diddy and Bay Boys, Master P and No Limit and Suge Knight and Death Row Records. YMCMB is set to drop 16 projects in first half of 2012 including albums from Tyga, Birdman, Bow Wow, Lil Twist, Lil Wayne and Nicki MInaj. Birdman took a few minutes from his busy schedule to chat with Complex about YMCMB’s upcoming releases. Below are some excerpts:

On Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being 2.

“Wayne’s got an album he’s about to drop real soon. Its called I am not a Human Being 2. It’s gonna be before the summer for sure. We haven’t picked the date yet. Whenever he’s ready to drop his album, we’re gonna make it do what it do. He’s definitely got an album done and ready to go. Wayne works a lot. There’s no telling [if Rebirth 2 will happen]. But I know for sure we’ve got I Am Not A Human Being 2 ready to go. That’s the next project.”

On Like Father, Like Son 2.

“We got that finished too. We’ve been recording that. We never stopped recording [for] that. We got songs we want. When we get ready to drop it, we’ll probably do that in the 4th quarter. Wayne wants to do the I am Not a Human Being 2 and I want to do my solo album too, so we’ll probably do that later on.”

Rise Of The Last King: Tyga Talks Album Collaborations With Nas & Nicki Minaj

On February 21, 22-year-old YMCMB rapper Tyga will be releasing his forthcoming LP, entitled Careless World: Rise Of The Last King. The disc has collaborations with Nas, Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, J. Cole and Robin Thicke, among others. In an interview with XXL mag, Tyga said that it took some time but he has finally procured a verse from Nas. The Queens Hip-Hop legend appears on a track called “Kings and Queens” that also features Wale.

Yeah man, I sent Nas a song like six months ago and I never heard back from him but out of the blue, he called me like, ‘yo, you doing your thing. I want to be apart of what you doing, I like everything you doing. Keep working hard,” Tyga tells XXL. “I sent him the ‘Kings and Queens’ that night and he did it the next day. I was like, that shit is crazy. Nas always talks that shit. The song man, [his bars] added the cherry on top. It’s a real classic song. People are gonna like it. I wanna think of a dope video. The storyline of the song, the whole King and Queens [theme], it’s motivational.”

On the album, Tyga also has a collaboration with Nicki Minaj.

The song for Nicki is called ‘Muthafucka Up,’” he shares. “I don’t know what they gonna call it on the radio. Maybe they might call it ‘Up.’ That one is one of them going in type songs. Like how Wayne had ‘A Milli.’ One of those Young Money records that people love. We got a crazy visual for that one, too. I don’t wanna give it away. I’ve been doing a lot of features for everyone.”

Tyga’s current single, “Rack City,” just reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and his new single “Faded” Ft. Lil Wayne is buzzing on urban radio stations across the country.

Styling On Them Hoes: J Lo In $1,255 Balmain Jeans & $1,400 Christian Dior Ankle Booties

The talented singer, dancer, actress and TV personality Jennifer Lopez was recently spotted backstage at “O” by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. J Lo was wearing a pair of $1,255 Balmain Distressed Jeans, paired with $1,400 Christian Dior Guetre Platform Ankle Booties, grey sweater, coat and clutch. J Lo was looking stunting and I am definitely feeling her outfit. J Lo is also the ultimate diva. Before Beyoncé, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, there was J Lo. She came a long way from riding the 6 train in Castle Hill (Bronx). Look at her now; straight from the inner cities to becoming a worldwide superstar.

New Visual: Wiz Khalifa Ft. Juicy J & Lola Monroe “Oh Gee La”

Rapper Wiz Khalifa joined forces with his Taylor Gang artists for a new track, entitled “Oh Gee La” Ft. Lola Monroe and Juicy J. The track is a remake of the Fugees classic “Fu-Gee-La.” The visual was filmed in the studio and they had plenty of weed, liquor, diamonds and cash. Khalifa signed Monroe and Juicy to his Taylor Gang Records last year. Juicy is a legend in the South and I respect Monroe because she always had that hustla’s spirit and drive, which makes people want to work and invest in her. Peep the visual below:
