He Play His City Like A Knicks Game: World Premiere Dollah Tha Rapper “Out On A Limb”

Nathaniel Mungin also known by his stage name @DollahThaRapper is in the limelight cause he rhymes tight. This 19-year-old Bronx native is setting the streets on fire and taking over New York City’s underground Hip-Hop circuit with his new singles “Out On A Limb.” His music is diversified, he speaks on various topics in his music. “I can write songs for my fellas, females and clubs. I will never limit myself to just one style of music. Some of the best artists such as Lil Wayne, Kanye West, 50 Cent and Jay-Z music are very diverse,” Dollah told Don Bleek.

Dollah started rapping five years ago, after he was inspired by his mother Tawana and his childhood friends. “My mother always used to tell me I can rap. I was also inspired by my friends. We used to rap at gas stations and car washes in the Bronx,” said Dollah. Successful music artists such as Cassidy, Lloyd Banks, Fabolous, Meek Mill and French Montana are some of Dollah’s music influences.

As far as his success, in the last few months, Dollah participated in a Hip-Hop cipher backstage at the Raekwon (of the legendary Hip-Hop group Wu-Tang Clan) concert at BB King Blues, met with a former prominent music rep from Sony Records and talked to “Kay K” (music A&R’s for eONE Music/Universal Motown). This spring 2012, Dollah will be releasing his free Extended Play (EP) on the Interweb.

NYC’s Most Valuable Player: La La Vazquez-Antony Covers YRB

La La Vazquez-Anthony started off as a Radio/TV Host back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Over a decade later, she is a mother, wife, executive producer, reality star, actress and business mogul. As I always say, “La La is doing a great job at branding herself.” She came a long way from Marcy Project’s in Brooklyn, New York. La La is well on her way to demonstrating who runs the world. La La is featured as “New York’s Most Valuable Player” in the latest issue of YRB Magazine. For the issue, La La poses in elaborate head pieces and embellished heels paired with gowns, tutus and leotards. In the cover story, La La talks about her 4-year-old son Kiyan, make-up line, husband/NY Knicks player Carmelo Anthony, emulating her career after Oprah Winfrey, being a role model and much more. Below are some excerpts:

When it comes to her four-year-old son, Kiyan Anthony, filming the show.

“He thinks we are shooting a movie, so he’s into it, but if he’s ever not in the mood cameras have to go off. I want it to be fun for him, and if there is ever a point when it’s not fun for him, I never want him to do it.”

On proving that she is more than a TV/Radio Host.

“I’m always respectful of hosting and radio because
that’s where it all started for me. If it’s the right thing, I will just jump back into hosting mode. But I just really feel like tackling new things now and acting is where I want to put my heart and soul.”

On her husband/New York Knick player Carmelo Anthony being impressed and supportive of her career.

“Melo just laughs and asks, ‘Do you ever sit down? Do you ever get a break?’” she says. “But he’s so supportive, just like I’m supportive of him. It’s great to have a person that understands what you do and gets it.”

On emulating her career after Oprah Winfrey.

“She started in radio; I started in radio. She produced; I produced Tyson. She has done acting. She has done branding – she’s done everything. There was a time when people only wanted you doing one thing. If you are a host, you are only a host, only an actress, only a singer… And now, in this day and age, it’s about doing a lot of things and being good at all of them. I just want to prove that one person can be good at a lot of different things.”

Spring/Summer 2012 Footwear: Hermes Sneakers

Last year upscale fashion brand Hermes released their Quicker low-top sneaker, which retail for $830 and comes in the burgundy suede, midnight blue suede, and grey/green suede colorways. The fashion brand recently released these same sneakers in a high-top version. It has the same sleek design and stitch detail, but has a taller shape for those who want more ankle support. These Quicker sneakers are low-top and use goatskin for the upper and a rubber sole for the bottom.
