The other day, I reported that Nicki Minaj is across the ponds in the UK. She is in London to promote her new fragrance and has a few promo appearances which include a stop by” The Graham Norton Show” which airs Friday. Earlier this morning Wednesday (April 18), paparazzi caught Minaj leaving her hotel to record a taping of “The Graham Norton Show”. She was all glammed up in a bondage-style dress and a shiny red jacket. The platinum-selling rapper greeted her fans and signed autographs. Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded in stores and iTunes now.
Def Jam recording artist Fabolous was photo’d in his truck rocking a pair of Air Jordan XI ‘Obsidian’. He paired his kicks with tan cargo shorts and a blue shirt. These kicks will hit Jordan Brand retailers on June 23 and are priced at $160. The Air Jordan XI ‘Obsidian’ high top are one of the few remaining OG colorways that have yet to be re-issued. A few years ago (2003), the low-top version was released. It’s been fifteen years since we last saw the high top Obsidians, are you buying these kicks?
One of my faves, media personality, reality star and business mogul La La Vazquez-Anthony hosted a private screening of the upcoming movie Think Like a Man at Bryant Park Hotel with X-Rated Fusion Liqueur in New York City. La La was styling on them hoes in a black Stella McCartney jumper accented with an Asif Zaidi statement necklace, and topped off her look with gold rosette Lanvin wedges. While drinking a glass of cocktail, La La chatted with TheYBF.Com about what she learned from Steve Harvey’s book, the movie, Melo and their son Kiyan. Below are some excerpts:
On the tips LaLa learned from the book: “As a woman to control our emotions sometimes we act off of emotions and if there’s a way to control that I think we should. Women have a tendency to act off of emotions whereas men can set it aside.”
On any situations in the book relating to those she has had with husband Carmelo Anthony: “Of course. Melo and I had a long engagement, and that’s talked about in the book. But now we are happily married and do things our way. There are a lot of things in the book that I can relate to. I think everyone could find some pieces of the book that they relate to and can apply it to life.”
On her best on-set experience: “Working with new actors and actresses. There were days I didn’t have to be on set and I would go just to watch and learn.”
On spending time developing Kiyan’s modeling future acting possibilities: “We don’t pressure Kiyan, whatever he wants to do we support him, to act, to model, to be a basketball player. We just want him to be a kid and enjoy his life as a kid. The Jordan photo shoot was something he wanted to do, and we supported him. It’s the kind of parents that we are!”
“We were in a Miami studio last night and Ma$e just stopped by,” Montana told XXL.“We were just workin’ on my album. We recorded two songs together—me, Ross and Ma$e. You might hear [Ma$e] on either my album [Excuse My French] or Ross’ [God Forgives, I Don’t] or both.”
Montana wasn’t able to speak too much on the Ma$e situation but he did say that the Harlem rapper sounds good. “We been planning it,” French said. “Ma$e sounds good, sound like he never left. His flow is crazy. We’re going to let the world hear soon enough. Stay tuned. Just stay tuned.”
French Montana debut LP, entitled Excuse My French and Rick Ross’ God Forgives, I Don’t will be out soon.
Rapper Future recently celebrated his album release party at Esso Nighclub in Atlanta. UPDATE: It’s official! The deal is signed! Lil’ Durk and Lil’ Reese have both signed solo deals with Def Jam. Above they’re pictured with Def Jam and Chicago’s own No I.D. Congrats Lil Durk and Lil Reese! Welcome to the music industry and take y’all talents pass the stars. BELOW IS WHAT I REPORTED LAST WEEK:
I have a good ear for music and I’ve heard about these guys a while back. Lil Durk & Lil Reese are dope. Their music is good enough to sellout a show, get plays on the radio, views on YouTube, features in magazines and on blogs. If you guys are not familiar with them, YouTube and Google them, I promise they won’t let you down. The rap duo are currently in L.A. and rumor has it, they may be inking or have inked a deal with Def Jam.
According to FSD, “In an interview that will be dropping later this week on FSD, Durk hinted that labels were interested in signing the pair as a duo. Find out more in our exclusive interview with Durk, but keep your ear to the streets as to what situation these two may have landed.”
Over this past weekend, NBA player LeBron James’ fiancée Savannah Brinson shopped it up while in NYC. She was in Manhattan to watch the Heat play against the Knicks. When Savannah wasn’t at the game, she spent some quality time shopping at Bergdorf Goodman and looking at bridal gowns for her upcoming wedding at Oscar La Renta’s Spring 2013 Show. Savannah was photo’d with Lebron’s stylist Rachel Johnson and Juwan Howard’s wife Jenine. She was styling on them hoes in a pair of Christian Louboutin Boulima pumps and she was also carrying an orange Hermes Birkin bag. Nice look! Any thoughts?
“Harlem is back, who in the world want a problem with that, I heard Harlem is back, who in the world want a problem with that,” rhymes Ma$e on Fat Joe’s “Lean Back (Remix).” I told my friends in 2012, I’m going bring Ma$e back. The interview is coming! The Harlem platinum-selling rapper was recently photo’d in the studio with Rick Ross, French Montana, Rico Love and Omarion. These guys are in the studio working on some dope music. The interested part is that Rick Ross and French Montana are both releasing albums this year. It’s good to see Ma$e back. His last album, entitled Welcome Back was released in 2004. The disc was certified gold, according to the RIAA. Peep the pictures below:
Kanye West and Future were also spotted in the studio. According toFSD, “Yeezy has recently collaborated with producer Sonny Digital (Future’s “Same Damn Time”) alongside 2 Chainz for a new track, but I’m not sure if Future is featured on that joint as well. Only time will tell.”
