This has been a very rough season for BBWLA. A couple of weeks ago it was reported that the ratings for this season dropped almost one-million. Now it is rumored that Gloria and Laura Govan, Malaysia Pargo and Brooke Bailey are getting cut. Below is how TMZis reporting the story.
“Basketball Wives: L.A. axed four of its six cast members — and TMZ has learned the catalyst was when Gloria Govan shut producers out of her nuptials to L.A. Lakers star Matt Barnes. Sources connected to the show tell TMZ the producers are getting rid of Gloria, Laura Govan, Malaysia Pargo and Brooke Bailey because the wives, especially Gloria, weren’t allowing “all of their reality to be filmed.” We’re told the breaking point came when Gloria (who is known for her feisty ways) jetted off to Vegas to marry Barnes — and didn’t even let the show know about it. Our sources say the producers felt extremely disrespected by her actions and made the decision to clean house. Our sources tell us the producers haven’t told the wives they’re getting fired yet, but are already looking for new women to fill their spots. Draya Michele and Jackie Christie will be the only returning members.”

Swizz Beatz is really a renaissance man! He does so many things outside of music including fashion, art, being a creative director, designing cars and a lot of charitable work. All of his hard work and giving back to his community eventually paid off because the 34-year-old Bronx native was honored by Haute Living Magazine and Louis XIII for his charitable efforts, talent and living legacy. Swizz’s wife Alicia Keys and his good friend Carmelo Anthony were also in attendance. Artist Domingo Zapata presented Swizz with a commissioned painting. They all shared laughs and sipped glasses of Louis XIII by Remy Martin cognac, which helped sponsor the event.
For the event, Swizz got all dapper in a black trouser suit and shirt which featured black lapels on the collar paired with custom Tom Ford shoes with “KD” written on the front. Alicia got all glammed up in a black shirt and pencil skirt paired with steel-toe-pumps. Melo kept it casual in a sweater paired with denim jeans. Congrats Swizz on all of your success and future endeavors. You are so inspiring!
Swizz thanked his family and friends for supporting him and attending his special event. “I appreciate these opportunities…they go down in the history books. Hopefully the world hears all the great things that everyone here tonight is doing, and that we keep up with the greatness, the happiness and the creativity.”
