Harlem’s own Juelz Santana is somewhat a fashion trendsetter in the urban communities. A lot of people including myself admire his streetwear style. Online fashion boutique Karmaloop links up with the Def Jam rapper for its Spring 2013 lookbook. Juelz puts his modeling skills to work and wears clothing from his personal Slowbucks collection as well as other brands including Billionaire Boys Clubs, 10 Deep, Crooks & Castles, Staple Design, Mitchell & Ness and more for his photo spread. The shoot reminds me of those good old late 80’s and early 90’s NYC spring/summer days.
“Shot on location in Harlem, New York City – a.k.a. Santana’s “birth place, tomb stone, dirt place” – the gritty borough provided the perfect backdrop for some of our cleanest product this season and Juelz ruled the shoot like a king. Extra special thanks to photographer Billy Fischer, stylist Dani Concepcion and Boylston Trading Co.’ s Frank the Butcher for the graphic touch!”
