K. Michelle’s ‘Around The Way Girl’ Look In Adidas & Timberland; ‘Rebellious Soul’ Drops Tomorrow

kmichelleaddiastimberland

R&B songstress K. Michelle rocked her ‘around the way girl look’ in her latest Instagram flick. She wore a $68 Women’s Adidas Originals Firebird Track Hoodie and the matching $58 Women’s Adidas Originals Firebird Track Shorts. The ‘Rebellious Soul‘ singer completed her outfit with a pair of $180 Timberland boots which are available at Nordstrom. I was not able to find the exact hoodie and shorts that K. Michelle had on in the above pic, but below are a similar hoodie and pants. Are you feeling K. Michelle’s around the way girl look?

K. Michelle will release her debut, Rebellious Soul via Atlantic Records tomorrow (August 13). The 11-tracks R&B/soulful LP features the Pop & Oak-produced lead single “V.S.O.P. and I Don’t Like Me” which is in heavy rotation on urban radio. I like how K. Michelle used Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as a platform to rebuild her music career and brand. She is very talented and can sing. I am rooting for her! Pre-order the LP on iTunes.

In the music industry, the rumor mill is buzzing and people are saying that Chicago’s up & coming rapper Spenzo either signed or is in the process of signing to Atlantic Records. At the current moment, I cannot confirm nor deny if that rumor is true but I can attest that this 17-year old Chi-Town emcee had a meeting with the label a couple of months ago. The big names in the room included Michael Kyser, Lyor Cohen and Julie Greenwald. Spenzo is also working on his upcoming project, In Spenzo We Trust. Young Jeezy’s CTE World Imprint Signs With Atlantic Records; Where He Serves As Senior Vice President of A&R

Young-jeezy-Vanquish

It has been announced that Young Jeezy’s CTE World imprint has signed a deal with Atlantic Records. The imprint will operate under Jeezy’s direction in conjunction with Atlantic Chairman Craig Kallman. To celebrate his new achievement, Jeezy will drop his new mixtape, It’s Tha World today Wednesday (December 12). Back in August, I reported that Jeezy was appointed Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic. In a press release, Jeezy said, “This is a fresh start for the CTE brand as we re-launch it,” said the Snowman. “This is why I chose to wipe the slate clean and create an outlet to support and nurture new artists to the best of my ability.”

Jeezy’s former artist Freddie Gibbs will not be moving on with CTE at Atlantic:

Freddie is a talented artist and I decided that it’s time to press reset on my career and business ventures,” said Jeezy in a statement. “I have no doubt that Freddie will go on to be everything I believe he can be, and I wish him the best in his career.”

Is Young Jeezy leaving Def Jam for Atlantic Records? Word in Atlanta is that the platinum-selling rapper has been appointed Senior VP of A&R at Atlantic Records. It is rumored that the news was broken last night Wednesday (August 8), by DJ Greg Street on his V103 radio show.

Complex posted, “According to a retweet by Young Jeezy‘s production coordinator DJ Folk, Young Jeezy was named Senior VP of A&R at Atlantic Records. Folk also confirmed with Complex that the news of Jeezy’s new job is correct.”

Wow! A lot of questions are left unanswered. Do you think this was a good business move on Jeezy’s behalf?

Don’t Call It a Comeback: Irv Gotti Headed To Atlantic Records?

Word in the music industry is that Murda Inc CEO and music executive Irv Gotti is headed to Atlantic Records. It’s rumored that Gotti recently had a secret meeting with Kevin Liles and Michael Kyser over at Lambs Club. Below is the NY Post is reporting the story:

Irv Gotti looks about to be getting back into the music business, possibly at Atlantic Records. The ex-Murder Inc. boss had a meeting with former Def Jam honcho Kevin Liles at the Lambs Club, and then left to meet with Atlantic president Michael Kyser. A restaurant spy said, “They looked like they were plotting to take over the world.” Gotti recently talked about Def Jam with MTV’s RapFix Live, saying, “Even though I’m the right man for the job … do something, put Kevin Liles back in there.”
