Rihanna For Glamour Magazine

Rihanna is definitely a “good girl gone bad“. When she is not touring around the world or uploading sexy pictures to her Instagram, she is gracing the covers of some of the most popular beauty and fashion publications. To coincide with her Style Network fashion competition show, Styled To Rock, Riri is also gracing the November 2013 issue of Glamour magazine. The fashionista is sporting a Jheri Curl and an all-black ensemble on the front cover.

Styled To Rock (featuring Riri and music producer Pharrell Williams as a fashion mentor) premieres on November 5 at 8pm on Style Network.

Are you watching Styled To Rock and what are your thoughts on this cover?

Kerry Washington Covers Glamour; Talks Fashion, Scandal & Her New Marriage

Successful Hollywood actress Kerry Washington covers the October Fall 2013 issue of Glamour magazine. Things are really looking good for Washington. She’s truly blessed! She is the first African-American female to lead in a network drama in almost 40 years. Her role on Scandal made history and it also earned her an Emmy nomination. Earlier in the summer she got married to San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. Washington also serves the Obama administration (as a member of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities).

On the cover of Glamour, she gets pretty in a pink Dior dress. Inside she poses in designer brands including DiorDolce & GabbanaBurberry ProrsumChloeChristian LoboutinJimmy ChooLouis Vuitton and more. She also talked to writer Cindi Leive about fashion, Scandal and her new marriage. Below are some highlights:

Bodysuit, scarf, Louis Vuitton; diamond ring, Van Cleef & Arpels; bag, Prada; pumps, Jimmy Choo.

I want to ask about fashion too. At what point did it start to be fun, or is it still kind of something you do because it’s part of the job?
It started out as, like, Good-Student Kerry. OK, I’m going to admit this: There were a couple of actresses whom I felt were having the upper hand careerwise—because they knew how to work that red carpet. I was like, “I’m missing a really important tool. If I am the CEO of the Kerry Washington Corporation, my marketing department is really lax.” So I sort of developed a new character: Red-Carpet Kerry.

And the fashion on Scandal is a whole other story. All that white! Did that come from you?
From me and the costume designer Lyn Paolo. And the pants—that Olivia wears pants—that was mine, because I really wanted her to wear the pants in that relationship.

OK, so relationships. In interview after interview, you always use the same phrase: “I don’t talk about my personal life.” I’m curious about the discipline that it requires to be so tight-lipped.
I learned through experience that it doesn’t work for me to talk about my personal life. I’ve had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it. I was on the cover of a bridal magazine [InStyle Weddings, in 2005, when Washington was engaged to actor David Moscow]. But I couldn’t just turn around and say, “I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.” So I just thought, OK, no more.

You even managed to get married in June without anyone knowing.
Absolutely! I’m walking around in the world with my ring. And when people say congratulations, I say thank you. But I’m going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold.

Dress, Dior.

Sweater, skirt, Dolce & Gabbana; coat, Burberry Prorsum; ring, H.Stern; bag, Chloe; pumps, Christian Louboutin.

Fly Girl From The Bronx: J. Lo Covers Glamour Magazine

Singer and actress J. Lo is covering the December issue of Glamour magazine. The publication also named Jenny “Woman of the Year”. On the cover, the Bronx bombshell is rocking a red top and blue pants. The cover shoot was shot in L.A. Below are a few excerpts:

On the possibility of a new relationship out of the public eye
“I think to give something a chance, to really get to know somebody, you want to do it out of the public eye. You know the media—they want to rush everything.”

On her style
“The things I liked when I was, like, 16 and in the Bronx—jeans, cut-up T-shirts—I still like. But I’ve been exposed to so much now from traveling the world and seeing couture clothes. I used all of that when I created my new line for Kohl’s. My style has come from everything, from where I started to where I am today.”

On what she’s learned about love and relationships
“I think I’ve finally learned the biggest lesson of all. You’ve got to love yourself first. You’ve got to be ok on your own before you can be ok with somebody else. You’ve got to value yourself and know that you’re worth everything. And until you value yourself enough and love yourself enough to know that, you can’t really have a healthy relationship.”

Girl You Be Killin Em: Nicki Minaj’s Fashion Spread In Glamour Magazine

Southside Jamaica Queens underground female rapper turned international superstar Nicki Minaj has a small spread in the October 2011 issue of Glamour magazine. In the spread, Minaj is rocking a short blonde bob with sunglasses. She is also wearing pieces from Christian Louboutin, Giuseppe Zanotti, Dolce & Gabbana and Tom Ford. The 2011 issue of Glamour will be hitting newsstands on September 6.

Nicki Minaj is doing a GREAT job at branding herself. She came a long way from rapping in a staircase in Queens, New York. Minaj is the voice of this generation when it comes to female Hip-Hop. I love and respect Minaj work ethics.
