This Monday (March 25th), Harlem’s rap duo The Diplomats are set to perform at NYC’s BB King Blues for their 10th Anniversary Concert. The event will be hosted by New York’s Hot 97’s DJ, DJ Funk Master Flex. Tickets are $40 in advance at Ticketmaster and $45 at the door. Below are some excerpts from BB King Blues website:

The Diplomats, (also known as Dipset) are a Harlem, New York-based group who previously signed to Roc-A-Fella Records, but now are signed to own their label. Founded by rappers Cam’Ron and Jim Jones, the group released their debut album Diplomatic Immunity under their imprint Diplomat Records. The group’s sophomore album Diplomatic Immunity 2 was released under Koch Entertainment. Juelz Santana currently is the only member still signed to Diplomat Records and Def Jam Records.”

“One of the defining elements of the Diplomats’ music is the innovative slang they have incorporated into their lyrics. They also coined the greeting, “What’s Really Good?”. Many of the rappers were signed, and were premiered in mixtapes, but the Diplomats did not become exclusive until 2003 with their CD Diplomatic Immunity.”

The Harlem Diplomats: Jim Jones Updates Fans On Dipset LP, Reveals Movie Plans

Last summer, It was announced that childhood friends/Harlem’s rap group The Harlem Diplomats (Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Freekey Zekey and Juelz Santana) ended their feud and got back together. It was rumored that the duo signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label. Since then, fans have been wondering when will the Harlemites release their reunion album. They are still working on putting out a reunion album, as well as working on their solo obligations.

In an interview with XXLMag.com, Jim Jones said, “Currently in motion, we been working . . . it hasn’t been going as fast as we’d like it to go because everybody got so much business that they’re doing aside from where we left it.” “But we definitely been locking in. Shout outs to Cam, shout outs to Juelz, shout outs to Freekey Zekey. Everybody’s on board. We actually working on the Diplomat movie . . . I don’t think I was supposed to say that.”

Speaking on the Dipset movie Jones said the movie will be about their road to success: ” Our success and road to success has been filled with a lot of ups and downs,” Jones explained. “It’s kind of like an action flick if you Google us and read all the news clippings and everything that’s been going on while we been on TV. It should be a good movie.”

A release date for both projects has not been revealed.
