G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks is one of the dopest lyricists in the game. He sold platinum albums, tour the world and achieved commercial success with the released of his first three albums; Hunger For More, The Rotten Apple and Hunger For More 2. Now the Queens native is looking to broaden his horizons by producing records.
“One of the biggest things I want to do is I want to produce,” Lloyd Banks told AllHipHop.com in a recent interview. “As far as sounds. I kind of know what’s missing or what would even just sound dope in certain places.”
Banks added that you have to dictate the pace of your music, in order to be the best artist you can be overall.
“I think you can’t be the best artist you can be, like completely overall, until you’re able to dictate the pace of your music. The only way you do that is to be able to create the beat. So artists like Dr. Dre, Eminem and Kanye West are the best for a reason. They don’t have to wait to get a beat from whoever the hot beat maker is. They create it.”
