Passion For Fashion: Lloyd Banks Wearing A $935 Givenchy Printed Satin And Jersey Sweatshirt

lbanks

We don’t hear much from Lloyd Banks these days, but he popped up on Instagram in a $935 Givenchy Printed Satin And Jersey Sweatshirt. This sweatshirt is from the fashion house Spring/Summer 2013 collection and aptly captures the subversive spirit. Finished with appliqued stars, pair it with waxed denim jeans or black trousers with some Raf Simons sneakers, and you sure will have heads turning.

50 Cent Is Still Not On Good Speaking Terms With Lloyd Banks & Tony Yayo; “I think I disabled them.”

50 Cent will be dropping his new album, Street King Immortal on November 13. A couple of weeks ago, he dropped the album’s first single “New Day” Ft. Dr. Dre and Alicia Keys. The song was produced by Dr. Dre and mixed by Eminem. It is good to hear 50 back on the radio! 50 is doing pretty good but that doesn’t means everything at his label is good. In fact, are there some issues in the G-Unit Camp? In a recent interview with XXL, 50 had some things to say about his protégé Lloyd Banks and childhood friend Toyo Yayo and it wasn’t good. Below are some excerpts:

Just last month you were very critical of Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, saying they need to “Get themselves together.” Since that time they each dropped a mixtape, Banks with V6and Yayo with Sex, Drugs & Hip-Hop. Have y’all talked?

I actually haven’t spoke to ‘em very much. I’m to fault for that, though. I think I disabled them.

What do you mean by that?

I did so much for them that they don’t have a continuous work ethic. They got both of those tapes out there, but did you see any visuals? Anything? There’s certain things that the new guy is doing to create momentum or energy. They just sit there and wait. When someone works for you, you have the habit of dealing with things by not dealing with them. You may get in the regimen of coming over and doing it for them.

By them not dropping videos to accompany their mixtape tracks, what does it tell you?

Dropping mixtapes…that was my ’02 strategy. That’s 2002 marketing. That’s old. You did nothing if you did that. Look what I’ve done with The Lost Tape or The Big 10. There’s videos for everything that was on the tapes. If you’re going to just wing it and drop a mixtape…pick the highlights that people like most and shoot ‘em. Go shoot the video.

Tracklisting & Mixtape Artwork: Lloyd Banks ‘The Cold Corner 2’

Tomorrow Tuesday November, Queens’ rapper Lloyd Banks will be releasing his new mixtape The Cold Corner 2. The disc features collaborations with Prodigy, Style P, A$AP Rocky, Tha Jerm and more. In my opinion, this G-Unit signee is one of the dopest lyricists in the game. He sold platinum albums, tour the world and achieved commercial success with the released of his first three albums; Hunger For MoreThe Rotten Apple and Hunger For More 2. Dope Or Nope? Lloyd Banks “Check It Out”

DJ Kast just leaked a new song from G-Unit rapper Lloyd Bank.  The track was produced by Cardiak. The Queens native is currently enjoying the success of his latest independence album Hunger For More 2. The disc debuted at number 26 on the  Billboard 200 chart; which is good for an independence album in this economy. “Beamers, Benz or Bentley” sold over 500,000 copies digital. So far Banks, released five singles from the album; including “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley,” “Any Girl,” “Start It Up,” “I Don’t Deserve You,” and “So Forgetful.” Listen to the audio below:

Do You Agree Or Disagree? The NY Times Names Lloyd Banks New York’s Most Important Rapper

Over this past weekend, Queens rapper Lloyd Banks performed at Hot 97’s annual “Summer Jam” concert. During his set, “The Punchline King (PLK)” brought out Swizz Beatz, Ryan Leslie, Mobb Deep, Juelz Santana and Fabolous. In a recent article, published on NYTimes.com, they named Banks “the most important rapper in New York.” Below is an excerpt from the NY Times write-up on Summer Jam:

“Fabolous, wearing a bow tie clipped to his T-shirt and backed by a live band, was pleasant but perfunctory. He was outshone by Lloyd Banks, who may have stealthily become the most important rapper in New York — last year his “Beamer, Benz or Bentley” was a local anthem; this year he’s got “Start It Up.” It’s worth noting that major labels have done little for these two: Mr. Banks’s success came after parting ways with Interscope, and Fabolous’s recent surge has been completely on the back of his mixtapes.”

Do you agree or disagree with the NY Times, naming Banks “the most important rapper in New York?”
