THE WAVE IS OFFICIALLY OVER! Max B’s Appeal Denied, Will Be In Prison Until 2042

The wave is officially over! Rapper Max-B appeal was denied and he will remain in prison until 2042. Earlier today, New Jersey Court of Appeals upheld “The Wavy Baby’s” 2009 conviction for murder, robbery and other charges that happened at a Fort Lee, New Jersey Holiday Inn hotel. Max must serve out his entire 75-year sentence without the possibility of parole until his release on November 9, 2042.

According to NJ, “Charly Wingate, better known in the hip-hop world as “Max B,” was convicted after Bergen County prosecutors argued during a trial in Hackensack that he deployed his stepbrother, Kelvin Leerdam, and his girlfriend, Gina Conway, to the Holiday Inn on Route 4 to commit the robbery. The two targets of the robbery, David Taylor and Allan Plowden, had been seen a few days earlier in Harlem in September 2006, driving a 2007 Mercedes Benz and showing off lots of cash. Plowden testified during the trial that he had obtained the money from a mortgage and credit-card scheme before being arrested himself. He was an inmate in a federal prison when he testified at the 2009 trial. Conway, who pleaded guilty for her role and testified against Wingate and Leerdam, said she met Plowden in Harlem and that he took her to a Mahwah hotel. She said she later told Wingate that Plowden had lots of cash, and Wingate devised a robbery plan, enlisting Conway as the bait and Leerdam as the muscleman. Wingate was charged as an accomplice although he was not at the scene.”

As I reported, DJ Next of Amalgam Digital tweeted the news, Tuesday (February 28). Those rumors were officially false. Somehow there was a miscommunication which resulted in that information being incorrect. Max-B’s good friend French Montana spoke to him last light and confirmed that those rumors were false. Peep Montana’s tweet below:

Max also forwarded a statement to AllHipHop.com in regards to the issue. “This was just a test from God. A battle cry..a call to arms,” Max B. told AllHipHop.com. “I’m bullet proof. And I’m coming out on my grown man s**t.”

In 2009, Max-B, born Charly Wingate, was Convicted of felony murder, aggravated manslaughter, kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy. The charges are tied to a 2006 botched robbery attempt of two men in a Fort Lee, New Jersey Holiday Inn. He was sentenced to 75-years in prison. Owwww…Five Wavy Pics Of Max-B Styling In $300-$900 BB Simon Belts

Even though Harlem rapper Max-B is setting behind the prison walls waiting on his appeal, we can’t forget about his Lenox Ave wavy style. Beside Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, Max-B was the first rapper I have seen wearing a BB Simon belt. In the summer of 2007 and 2008, Max-B was one of the people who made BB Simon belts very popular in NYC/NJ. If I had to describe Max-B style in one word it will be “wavy.” He kept a matching BB Belt around his waist to go with the outfit and sneakers he worn. The belts cost anywhere between $300-$900 dollars and can be purchase at retails in NYC/NJ or online at bbsimononline.com.

Max-B has an album titledVigilante Season, which will be coming out sometime this year on Amalgam Digital. As of press, no word on when the album will be out. According to a few reliable sources, Max-B aka Biggaveli can be home as early as summer 2011.

Disclaimer: In no way, shape or form was I paid or received any compensation for posting/promoting BB Simon belts on my site. I posted the belts because it goes with this story, plus I think the belts are dope.

Breaking News: Harlem Rapper Max-B Is On His Way Home

Please check the four side banner ads on the right and take advantage of the exclusive offers.

Owww, Harlem rapper Max-B is on his way home. According to a few reliable sources, Max-B aka Biggaveli can be home as early as summer 2011. Biggaveli debut album Vigilante Season will be in stores and online December 4th, via  Amalgam Digital/E1. Read the story below that I wrote on Max-B for XXL magazine back in the spring.

Name: Charly “Max-B” Wingate
Age: 31
Crime: Convicted of felony murder, aggravated manslaughter, kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy. The charges are tied to a 2006 botched robbery attempt of two men in a Fort Lee, New Jersey Holiday Inn. On June 9, 2009, 12 Bergen County jurors found Max guilty on all counts and he was sentenced to 75 years.
Began Sentence: September 3, 2009
Expected Release: November 2042; appeal pending.

THIS IS WHY HE’S HOT…

Cred: A former member of Byrd Gang and a longtime Dipset affiliate, Max earned his stripes alongside Jim Jones on several songs before breaking out on his own in 2007. The Harlem native quickly found success with popular mixtape series, like Public Domain, Million Dollar Baby, Goon Music and Coke Wave. Max’s consistent grind, caught the attention of Amalgam Digital, who signed him to a three album deal in 2008.

Pre-Jail Buzz: A constant force in the New York mixtape circuit, Max supplied the streets with music at a steady pace. His singing and catchy hooks, coupled with his unique slang, positioned Biggaveli as a rising underground star riding a wave of success before he got knocked.

Release Therapy: In the event that Max is able to win his appeal and get released early, he’d likely come home to instant fanfare with more street cred than the average rapper. Already an established mixtape maverick, he could finally see his hustle come to fruition with the release of his first full-length LP. Now, that would be wavy.
