New Music: Snoop Lion (Snoop Dogg) “La La La”

I seriously hope Snoop Dogg didn’t think this track was dope. You got to be kidding me! This is by far the worse song I’ve heard from Snoop. Somehow West coast Hip-Hop legend Snoop Dogg turns into Snoop Lion on the track “La La La” which is off his upcoming album, Reincarnated. Diplo handled the production. He recorded this track in Jamaica. My question is, how did this track make it across the border?

Do You Think She Can Make A Comeback? Eve Speaks On New LP, Working With Snoop Dogg & Nicki Minaj As An Artist

Philly’ female rap artist Eve recently performed at Cavalli Club in Dubai. While there, Ahlan caught up with the former Ruff Ryder femcee for a brief interview. The platinum-selling rapper and successful actress talked about her long-awaited comeback LP, working with Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj as an artist. Below are some excerpts:

Why has the new album has taken so long to come out?
It’s been out of my control. There definitely hasn’t been any real reason except that it just hasn’t been the right album or it hasn’t been the right group of people unfortunately, but this time around this album is the right album. I wanted to make sure I was in love with the record, and I am right now.

We’ve heard rumours you’re working with Snoop Dogg. Is there any truth to this?Yeah, Snoop Dogg is actually on the record!

What’s he like in real life?
He’s great. He’s hilarious. Not a lot of people know that but every time I see him or I talk to him on the phone he always gives me business advice, so he’s also kind of like a big brother in that way.

What do you think of artists like Nicki Minaj who are following in your footsteps?
It’s not music I listen to, but I do appreciate her as an artist and I think she’s holding the flag for female rappers right now.

Roll Up For This Issue: Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa Covers Rolling Out

Hip-Hop’s hypnotic duo Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa are covering the latest issue of Rolling Out. The two recently released their collaborative film Mac And Devin Go To High School and accompanying album, which includes 13 songs. In the cover story, Snoop and Wiz talked about their mutual respect for each other, love for marijuana, greatest thing about Hip-Hop and much more. Below are some excerpts:

It’s not unusual for hip-hop fans to get excited when two top-notch rappers collaborate. What makes this connection special?
Snoop Dogg:

It’s organic. It’s not forced. No one called Wiz and told him to do it and no one called me and made me do it. We did it because we felt like it was the right thing to do. It was the fans who embraced it as something that we’re suppose to be doing. We both know [there’s] a natural connection.

There has to be a mutual respect to bring both of the camps together. How are you guys inspired by each other?
Wiz Khalifa: Snoop’s work ethic. He continues to always work. People always talk about rap legends and give them accolades. Snoop is still going and he’s the only artists still going hard. He keeps it like that. No one is making it happen for him or telling him to do that. It’s him doing that and staying consistent.
Snoop: I’m inspired by Wiz’s spirit. He makes everyone feel as if they are a part of his situation. He has the right mind to lead. He leads with precision. To know that you’re a leader, you have to give them something to follow. He takes his time with what he does. He had my entire house in love with him. My family was excited that we were working together from day one.

Well this holiday season you might want to spark one and put it in the air because the two are set to release the soundtrack to their upcoming film, Mac and Devin Go to High School, on December 13 and hit the road for a brief tour in December. “The film, set in a Los Angeles high school, sees Valedictorian hopeful Devin Overstreet (Wiz Khalifa) struggling to pen his graduation speech when it becomes clear that all his academic overachievements have left him with little to no real-life experiences. He finds an unlikely inspiration in the least-achieving student on campus, Mac Johnson (Snoop Dogg.) Mac, a 15-year senior and consummate ladies man, is smitten by the school’s new substitute chemistry teacher. He soon realizes that the only way he’ll truly have a chance with her is if he finally graduates high school.  In 3 weeks time, Mac must cram four years of high school academics, while Devin must cram four years of teenage experience.”

Dope Or Nope? Lil Mama Ft. Snoop Dogg “NY NY LA LA”

One hit wonder Lil Mama is taking another chance at rapping. The Brooklyn native recently released a HORRIBLE new track titled “NY NY LA LA” Ft. Snoop Dogg. On this track, the former Jive Records recording artist mixes East Coast bang with West Coast slang. Sorry, Lil Mama and Snoop but both of y’all verses are WACK! Lil Mama should just stick to judging on ABDC. Listen at your own risk below:

Dope Or Nope?: Snoop Dogg “Raised In The Hood”

Let’s take a ride, to where? Long Beach Westside. On this new track Snoop Dogg is reminding you guys that he was “Raised In The Hood.” The track was produced by Warryn “Baby Dubb” Campbell and DJ Reflex and is featured on Snoop’s upcoming album Doggumentary; in stores and online March 29. This is one of those West coast anthems. I like the song and think its dope; the beat is sick. Snoop really went in on this track.
