Kanye West’s adidas Deal Is Reportedly Worth $10 Million

Kanye West and fashion is the perfect blend! Last week, YDBR reported that Yeezy is making some dope moves behind the scenes. He closed the doors to his Milan-based main fashion office and is moving his fashion house to NYC. See the original post here.

Yeezy also inked a new sneaker deal with adidas in the midst of a busy tour schedule. Speaking of Yeezy’s deal with adidas, the folks over at the New York Post‘s Page Six is reporting that his deal is worth $10 million.

According to a Page Six source, Kanye “only got 10 to 20 cents on the dollar for sales of his sneakers from Nike, and he only had a small personal stash to give out to his friends.”

Kanye West Appears On New York’s Hot 97 With Angie Martinez; Explains His Partnership With adidas

Music artist, fashion designer and creative director Kanye West has finally found corporate backing that he’s been looking for. A few minutes ago, the “Bound 2” rapper appeared on New York’s Hot 97 with Angie Martinez and confirmed that he has, indeed, signed a deal with adidas.

Kanye left Nike for adidas because the sportswear giant actually offered him more creative control. Nike refused to pay Kanye royalties because he’s not a professional athlete.

“So then I start turning up in the BBC interview, so [Nike] said, ok cool, we’re gonna give you a bigger sandbox to play in. We’re gonna give you this amount right here to design, and two collections a year, and 30 skews — that’s the amount of items that you have. Would that make you happy, Kanye? And I said, well I need royalties. It’s not even like I have a joint venture. At least give me some royalties. Michael Jordan has 5%, that business is $2 billion. He makes a $100 million dollars a year off of 5% royalties. Nike told me we can’t give you royalties because you’re not a professional athlete. I told them, I go to the Garden and play one-on-NO-ONE. I’m a performance athlete. Did I really ANYTHING? YES! Did I really EVERYTHING. 100,000 percent. I’m 100,000 percent at all times. It’s people that work in offices trying to tell me how to think, when I got a better perspective. I live in Paris“.

“So the old me, without a daughter, would have taken the Nike deal because I just love Nikes so much. But the new me, with a daughter, takes the adidas deal because I have royalties and I have to provide for my family“.

Angie: “So that’s official, did you officially announce the adidas deal?“

Kanye: “Whatever’s official, non-official, official, what y’all gonna see is… I am going to be the Tupac of product… I’ma be the first hip-hop designer, and because of that… I’ma be bigger than Walmart“.

ASAP Rocky & Jeremy Scott Unveils adidas Originals ‘Black Flag’ Collaboration Sneaker During NYFW

What is NYFW without A$AP Rocky and Jeremy Scott? Fans of the Harlem rapper and famed fashion designer flooded the streets of Soho just to get inside of the Adidas Originals Store this past Saturday (September 7). A$AP Rocky and Jeremy Scott hosted a meet and greet as well as unveiled the newly Jeremy Scott Wings 2.0-Black Flag sneaker inspired by A$AP Rocky. Fans in attendance also took pics and got autographs. Expect the sneaker to hit Adidas retailers on September 28.

This all-black sneaker features a tonal flag motif spread across both pairs with stripes across the left side and stars across the back.

K. Michelle’s ‘Around The Way Girl’ Look In Adidas & Timberland; ‘Rebellious Soul’ Drops Tomorrow

R&B songstress K. Michelle rocked her ‘around the way girl look’ in her latest Instagram flick. She wore a $68 Women’s Adidas Originals Firebird Track Hoodie and the matching $58 Women’s Adidas Originals Firebird Track Shorts. The ‘Rebellious Soul‘ singer completed her outfit with a pair of $180 Timberland boots which are available at Nordstrom. I was not able to find the exact hoodie and shorts that K. Michelle had on in the above pic, but below are a similar hoodie and pants. Are you feeling K. Michelle’s around the way girl look?

K. Michelle will release her debut, Rebellious Soul via Atlantic Records tomorrow (August 13). The 11-tracks R&B/soulful LP features the Pop & Oak-produced lead single “V.S.O.P. and “I Don’t Like Me” which is in heavy rotation on urban radio. I like how K. Michelle used Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as a platform to rebuild her music career and brand. She is very talented and can sing. I am rooting for her! Pre-order the LP on iTunes.

Fashion Me Dope: Jacob Latimore Wears A $550 PRSVR Combination Cycle Jacket & Adidas Sneakers

Last week, Sony/RCA recording artist Jacob Latimore and Bishop T.D. Jakes attended Fox Searchlight’s Black Nativity press event in Orlando. Black Nativity is a retelling of the classic Nativity story with an entire Black cast. “When you find something that you like, buy it in every color,” therefore for the event, Jacob rocked PRSVR once again. This time around, he wore a $550 PRSVR Combination Cycle Jacket in Electric Blue (similar to the one below). He last rocked this jacket in an eggshell colorway here. Jacob finished his look by adding a white v-neck tee-shirt, black jeans and a pair of royal blue Adidas sneakers. This jacket also turns into a vest when you unzip the sleeves. It features zip off sleeves, zip closure, button collar, nappa leather and camouflage leather. He looked dope! What is your verdict on Jacob’s look?

Jay-Z Sports A Balmain Eagle Print Tee-Shirt & Adidas Pro Model Sneakers

Over this weekend, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake’s ‘Legends of the Summer‘ tour stopped in New York at the Yankee Stadium. The duo performed two back-to-back shows there. During his performance, Jay-Z brought out Alicia Keys for “Empire State of Mind.” Following the sold-out show, the after party was held at Jay-Z’s 40/40 club in Manhattan. Jay and Bey were spotted sipping D’Usese cognac in VIP. Fashionable NBA player John Wall of the Washington Wizards was spotted styling off the court in a Pyrex Vision Tee Shirt from designer and boutique owner Virgil Abloh’s collection paired with G-Star cargo pants and adidas by Jeremy Scott Wings sneakers. Wall completed his outfit with a red leopard backpack. John Wall, Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Rudy Gay and Tristan Thomas are my favorite best dressed NBA players. As you guys know by now, I am a fan of color-blocked. I would have chosen a brighter color cargo pants though, but the outfit is cool.
