Partying In ATL: Young Jeezy, T.I., Polow Da Don & JD Celebrates Monica’s ‘New Life’ Album Release At Reign Nightclub

Over this past weekend, R&B singer Monica Celebrated the release of her new album, entitled New Life at Reign nightclub in Atlanta. Celebrities such as Young Jeezy, T.I., Polow Da Don, JD and Bryan-Michael Cox partied it up with Mo. The platinum-selling singer was looking flawless in a nice top, bootcut jeans and Christian Louboutin shoes. Peep the pictures below:

New Music: A$AP Rocky “Goldie”

As promised, Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky released his new single “Goldie” just a few minutes ago. The track serves as the lead single off his debut album, entitled Long.Live.A$AP. The track was produced by Hit-Boy (“Ni**as in Paris”). Rocky is keeping busy these days. Last week he shot “Street Knocks” video with Swizz Beatz and was photo’d in the studio with Kanye West and DJ Khaled. Long.Live.A$AP is scheduled to hit stores and iTunes in July on Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records.

It has been confirmed that A$AP Rocky will be headlining NewYork’s  Hot 97 Summer Jam Festival Stage June 3rd.

Sneaker Me Dope: Jadakiss Rocking Air Jordan XII ‘Playoffs’

Rapper Jadakiss was recently spotted sitting courtside at a basketball game. While there, Kiss was wearing a “Raspy” tee-shirt,camo pants, a Boston White Sox cap paired with Air Jordan Xll ‘Playoffs’. These kicks are expected to drop at Jordan Brand retailers this Saturday (April 21). They features tumbled leather construction on the upper with the white pebbled-leather mudguard, with the trademark TWO3 stitched on the tongue. Jada outfit is simple but dope at the same time. Any thoughts?

Music artist Lil Wayne is covering the May 2012 issue of XXL magazine. This issue features a special live photo and an interview discussing his touring domination, favorite show moments, personal rituals before hitting the stage and tips he gives his Young Money artists. The cover story is part of a special Hip-Hop Live package, which includes a piece on the 2012 SXSW Music Festival. Also featured in this issue are Odd Future, B.o.B and Diggy Simmons and Swizz Beatz.

The May 2012 issue of  XXL hits stands on April 24th.

She Sure Is Getting A lot Of Checks: Peep Yandy Smith New Interview & Find Out The REAL Story Behind Her Pregnancy

Last week, I posted excerpts and nude pictures of VH1‘s Yandy Smith of Love & Hip-Hop. Popular blog TheJasmineBrand had the opportunity to do an exclusive interview with the talent/music manager and Everything Girls Love President. Today, I have more excerpts from Yandy’s interview. She talks about if she will be back for season 3, working with Missy Elliot, being six months pregnant, taking club gig offers while pregnant, her baby father, how they met and their status. Below are some excerpts:

On if she’ll be back for another season of Love and Hip Hop: New York :

“I’m not opposed to it. If all the stars align and the dollar signs add up, I will absolutely [be back on The show]. “I speak to Kimbella, Olivia, and Somaya often. And of course I speak to Mona every day. So I do speak to a lot of the cast still.”

On working with Missy Elliot:

“Right now I’m super focused on Missy. It’s been a long time since she had her own project out, so I’m focused on making that project great. She has a lot of events coming up. To move Missy, it’s not a small job. Missy is all about her dancers and all about a huge production. She’s a perfectionist so there’s a lot of time and effort that goes into making a Missy project… It’s the old Missy that made you guys fall in love, and put her on the map. She has a couple of hardcore tracks that take you back to the root of hip hop, of course she takes you to the club with some of the records, and she even shows off her beautiful voice with some R&B tracks. I think you guys are in for a surprise.”

On whether or not she is pregnant:

“Yes, I am expecting, and that is the main reason why I won’t be taking any more club bookings… I’m having a little boy and he’s already overweight!… I haven’t been showing, but now that I’m entering my sixth month I’ll start showing, and I don’t want to be known as the pregnant girl in the club. This is my first so I’m super excited. I have so much stuff going on, I have no idea how I’m going to balance it all. So my newest article in Black Enterprise will be ‘How do you guys do it?’”

On her relationship status with her boyfriend and father of her child:

“There was a ring, but there was no one-knee so I don’t know what the status is. We have been together for about 6 years, we met in 2006. Its been off and on. There have been times when I was on the road for months; I really wasn’t able to focus on my relationship the way that I should have. We’ve broken up about 2 or 3 times. Every time we break up, we’re both seeing other people. I was almost engaged to someone else, he wound up having another child with someone else. Then we realized that we almost lost each other. So he rushed back and we’ve been unbreakable ever since… He could possibly be on the show with me. Its been amazing. We realized that this is where we want to be and we love each other. Its been beautiful. I’m really excited about where we are, and this little bundle of joy we have coming. And he’s excited too. We can’t wait until July.”

On her response to criticism surrounding her being pregnant in the club:

“Before the show ended there were already bookings up until March, almost every single weekend. Now my boyfriend travels with me, as well as security, plus the club armed security wherever we go. We enter through a side or back door and I’m escorted to VIP, where I sit down. People can say what they want, but I’m fine with it, my man is fine with it, and I’m protected by security, so I’m not going to turn down a 12-15 thousand dollar weekend just because people have something to say. I spoke to my doctor about traveling and he told me it was not a problem. But now that I know I’m about to start showing, I’m going to sit down and take it easy. I was not in the middle of the dance floor, I was not drinking, so it was fine. People can say what they want but I’m thinking of my child’s future. If financial security is something that you can give to your family, it makes you feel great. I feel good that I’m able to put aside a college fund before my child is here, in one month. People can blog and say what they want but my child is good. I don’t want people to think that money is more important than my child’s health, but I made all my doctor appointments, and made sure it was healthy to continue working.”

Word In The Industry: Emily & Fabolous Getting Their Own Reality Show?

Reality shows are the new thing now and one of the quickest ways for the regular people to become famous. Some shows are good, others are bad. Some of the cast members respect themselves on the shows and others lower their standards just to get a check. At the end of the day, we all tune in every week to watch the non-stop drama. Over this past weekend, I reported that Jim Jones and his fiancée Chrissy have got the green lighted byVH1 for five to seven 30 minutes episode of their own reality show.

Now it is being reported that there is another Love & Hip-Hop spin-off  based on the lives of Fabolous and his girlfriend/son’s mother Emily B. According to entertainment site Necole Bitchie, “Judging from both Fabolous and Emily’s twitter and instagram followers and user interaction, it seems as though their own show would be a no-brainer but is Fab willing to let the reality show cams into his family life?”

A lot Of New Music: Cam’ron Will Release A New Song Everyday For An Entire Month

Dipset fans are in for a treat! Beginning today Monday (April 16), Harlem rapper Cam’ron will be releasing a new song everyday for one month straight, except the weekends. Killa is also gearing up to release the third installment of Boss Of All Bosses with Vado. He will also be releasing his 7th solo studio LP later this year. This is some great news for Killa fans.
