Two Artists. Two Genres. One Stage: Kendrick Lamar & Bethany Cosentino Performs At Vitaminwater(R) & FADER “Uncapped”

Your personal playlists aren’t defined by genres, so why should your concerts be? Sometimes the most exciting sounds come from the most unexpected combinations. This summer, vitaminwater has partnered with The FADER to bring you “uncapped,” a nationwide concert series dedicated to bringing the best artists working in Hip-hop, electronic and indie rock and combining them in an unprecedented series of shows. Fans should be prepared because each concert promises to be an exciting shuffle of sounds they couldn’t possibly contain.

The fourth concert of the series took place last night in Portland at the lumberyard – a bike park, with the unexpected pairing of Best Coast and Kendrick Lamar (he pulled up a Portland fan on to the stage who performed not one, but three songs with the rapper). He then showcased his song “No Make-Up (Her Vice)” for the first time with extra special guest Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast, who sang the vocals for a frenzied audience.

International super-model Naomi Campbell is covering a very special edition of Schön. On the cover, Campbell is shining in a white dress and wearing a neck full of diamonds. She has also walked the catwalk and runways all around the world, was the first African-American model for French Vogue and graced the cover of over 500 renowned fashion magazines. Last night Wednesday (July 11), the 2012 ESPY Awards took place in Los Angeles. Returning To Fashion: Eve Reveals Plans For A New Clothing Line & Speaks On Her Style Evolution

Last weekend, during the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, Black Voices chatted with Philly’s rapper, actress and fashion designer Eve. The Ruff Ryders first femcee has been busy in the studio working on her long-awaited comeback album and is gearing up to embark on the Ruff Ryder reunion tour. While chatting with Black Voices, Eve talked about the actual outfit she had one, how her style has evolved, and revealed plans for a new clothing line. Below are some excerpts:

Tell us about this amazing sequined tie-dye dress you’re wearing.

The dress is by a company called Ashish, which I’m obsessed with. It’s easy and comfy. But, it’s also glamorous — so it’s the best of both worlds for me. And I’m usually not a color girl, but I love this dress. The shoes are Louboutin. They hurt but they’re worth it.

We’ve loved watching your style evolve over the years. How would you describe your personal style now?

I would call it “easy glamour.” I hate the word “easy” though, because “easy” and “glamour” just don’t sound good together. But, I’m the kind of person that likes something simple with a splash.

Is there anyone you look to for style inspiration?

Not really. It’s more about osmosis. You know what I mean? That’s what fashion kind of is. I’m always watching something or seeing something that inspires me. And it’s really just about how I feel, more than anything else.

We were sad when your clothing and accessories line Fetish shut down again in 2009. Do you plan on bringing it back?

There will be something, but it won’t be Fetish. I gave that up — the partners got on my nerves. But there will be something; you’ll see something soon.

So, what can we expect from the new collection once it launches?

It will be more shoes than it will be clothes.

Looking Good In Hollywood: Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Spotted Meeting At Kanye’s House

Do we still get excited when we see these two together or are we tired of seeing them? Kanye West and his girlfriend Kim Kardashian were recently spotted outside of Kanye’s house in West Hollywood. When they hopped out of Kanye’s black Lamborghini (Kim brought it for him as a birthday gift), they were looking fly in matching “black & white” outfits. Kanye had on a white shirt, black pants paired with Air Jordan 1 “Black/Royal” and Kim also wore a white shirt, black pants paired with Christian Louboutin pumps.

Congrats goes out to rising Chicago rapper Rockie Fresh. He has been added to the MMG power circle. Earlier this morning Thursday (July 12), the up & coming rapper signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group. Hard work pays off and it’s good to see Fresh turn his dream into reality. He has been riding high after the release of his mixtape, Driving 88 back in January.
