Yesterday Saturday (September 1), Jay-Z kicked off Day 1 of his ‘Made In America’ concert in Philly and your truly Don Bleek was in the city of Brotherly Love to witness history. Taking the stage around 9:30pm, Jay-Z walked down the stairs wearing a Brooklyn Nets cap, Givenchy tee-shirt and black jeans paired with Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Black/Solar Red” while the lyrics to “Made In America” off Watch The Throne played in the background. Jay-Z opened up his set with “Public Service Announcement (Interlude)” which is the 10 track on his 2003’s The Black Album, followed by a message from our President Barack Obama. Jigga performed his long list of hits including “99 Problems”, “Encore”, Jigga What Jigga Who”, “Jigga (What’s My Name)”, “Bonnie & Clyde”, “Big Pimpin” and many more tracks during his hour-long set. He also had a Roc-A-Fella/State Property reunion by bringing out Memphis Bleek, Freeway and Young Chris & Neef Buck (Young Gunz), followed by Swizz Beatz for “On To The Next One”.
Around 10:30, Jigga left the stage toward the end of his “Encore” performance. As the over-hyped Philadelphians started screaming “Hova Hova Hova”, Jigga said, “Philadelphia since you’ve been so good to me, I’m going to be good to you”. After that, the stage sparked fireworks and then G.O.O.D Music’s Pusha T, Big Sean and Kanye West ran on the stage rapping “I Don’t Like (Remix)” followed by Kanye’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “New God Flow”. G.O.O.D Music also performed Kanye’s “Way Too Cold” and Big Sean’s “A$$” before Common rushed the stage performing his chart-topping single “The Light”. G.O.O.D. Music closed out their set by performing “Mercy”, bringing out 2 Chainz. The fellas all rocked G.O.O.D. Music ‘Angel tee-shirts paired with Air Nike Yeezy 2 “Black/Solar Red” or Air Jordan sneakers. After they got done performing “Mercy”, they all lined up and turned their backs to the crowd to show off their matching shirts.
Finally, Jigga came back to the stage and closed out the Day 1 of his ‘Made In America’ concert with “N****s In Paris” Ft. Kanye West.
